The fall of advertising revenues of the media for the year can be up to 30%
The Ministry expects that the falling incomes of media from advertising because of the crisis associated with the coronavirus, will be up to 30% at year-end, said Deputy Minister Alexei Volin.
“We still hope that the decline in advertising for the year is less than 50%, referred to by Vladimir (Solovyov, the head of the Union of journalists of Russia – if), but 25-30% is quite possible in the fall,” said Wolin at the meeting of the Duma Committee on information policy, Informtechnologia and communications on Tuesday.
According to him, it will be for television a loss of 50 billion rubles for radio – about 8 billion rubles for the Newspapers – about 11 billion rubles (for paper and electronic publications). In addition, 10 billion rubles, the media will lose from the fall in retail sales, but also because of the “traditional revenues subscription”. Volin reminded that directly associated with the media several sectors.
“When we talk about those industries that need support, it is not only the media, but if you go formally Acwadam (all-Russian classifier of types of economic activities – if), it and printing activities, and promotional activities,” – said the Deputy Minister.
Also “very dramatic situation with the books,” the official added. “Because every month the scribes will lose 1.5 billion roubles from not working bookstores and seriously reduced the demand,” said Wolin.
