The head of the football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko became a member of the UEFA Executive Committee.
Pavelko election to the UEFA Executive Committee was held in the framework of the 43rd Congress in Rome. Seven places in the Executive Committee claimed nine candidates – Pavelko the vote took seventh place with 27 votes was necessary for election to the UEFA Executive Committee.
Along with Pavelko 2023, the UEFA Executive Committee will work sándor Csányi (Hungary), Davor Suker (Croatia), Luis Rubiales (Spain), Fernando Gomes (Portugal), Jesper møller Christensen (Denmark), Armand Duka (Albania) and Florence Hardouin (France).
“This is a very good signal for Ukraine, which will be presented in the highest European football body. We will need to work in the UEFA on common development tasks.
Am grateful to every one of my colleagues, the heads of Federations of national associations in Europe. People who sincerely make every effort for the development of European football,” said Pavelko in an interview with TV channel “Football”.
Candidate Pavelko in the UEFA Executive Committee in Rome was supported by the President of the NOC of Ukraine Sergey Bubka and the three winner of the “Golden ball” Andriy Shevchenko, Oleg Fleas and Igor Belanov.
Note that since 2007 the Ukraine in the UEFA Executive Committee was represented by former President FFU Grigory Surkis.
